Vercel vs Cloudflare pricing: what you pay on each, from published plans
Cloudflare can cost less than Vercel for high-traffic sites, mainly because it doesn't charge for bandwidth on Workers, but not for every app. Vercel's Pro plan is $20 a month per developer seat and includes $20 of usage credit; functions and other usage above the included amounts are billed on top. Cloudflare's Workers Paid plan has a $5 a month minimum per account, includes 10 million requests and 30 million CPU milliseconds a month, charges nothing for bandwidth, and serves static assets free without limit. Both have free plans: Vercel Hobby, described as for personal projects, and Cloudflare Workers Free with 100,000 requests a day. Moving a Next.js app to Cloudflare needs the OpenNext adapter and some testing, so compare your real Vercel usage before switching.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vercel Hobby | $0/month | 1M CDN requests and 100 GB Fast Data Transfer a month; 1M function invocations; 4 hours Active CPU | Not applicable: a free plan with fixed limits | Vercel describes Hobby as for personal projects |

Where the difference comes from
- Seats: Vercel Pro is priced per developer seat. Cloudflare's Workers Paid minimum is per account.
- Bandwidth: Cloudflare's docs say there are no additional charges for data transfer or bandwidth on Workers. Vercel's Pro plan bundles CDN usage into its Flat Rate CDN and usage credit.
- Static files: on Cloudflare, requests to static assets are free and unlimited. A mostly static site costs little on either platform's free plan.
- Functions: both bill server-side compute on usage. Your bill depends on how much of your app runs on the server for each request.
Before you switch
For a static site or a simple single-page app, moving is usually straightforward. A Next.js app needs the OpenNext Cloudflare adapter, and features such as image optimisation, ISR and middleware need testing on Cloudflare before you move your domain. Start with your actual numbers: Vercel's usage page shows which line items make up your bill. If you'd like someone to read it for you, our $29 Vercel bill teardown explains what's driving it and how to cut it, and our $299 migration moves the app with Vercel kept as a fallback for 7 days. This site runs on Cloudflare Workers with static assets.
