Is Lovable's security scan enough, or do you need an audit?
Lovable's built-in Quick and Deep security scans are free, don't use credits, and catch common problems such as tables without Row Level Security, rules that let everyone through, vulnerable npm packages and many access-control flaws in your code, so run the Deep scan before every launch. Lovable's own documentation says the scans can't guarantee complete security and suggests an additional professional review for apps that handle sensitive data or critical functions. If your app takes payments or stores personal data, add a review that tests your live app as a logged-out visitor and as a second user.

Lovable's scan and paid Lovable security audits compared (prices as listed by each provider)
How we chose and ordered these: Lovable's own free scans come first, then fixed-price human reviews from the lowest listed price up, then pentests. Descriptions come from each provider's own page; we haven't bought the other providers' audits. How we compare.
| Option | What you get | Price | Turnaround | Good fit when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lovable Quick scan | Automatic on every publish: database access rules, npm dependency audit, unauthenticated MCP server check | Free | Seconds | Always on. Fix every critical finding |
| Lovable Deep scan | On demand: reviews all your code for access control, abusable endpoints, injection, leaked secrets, payments and auth flaws | Free, no credits | Usually 3 to 13 minutes | Before every launch and after big changes |
| SecureIndie audit | Your live app and GitHub repo checked together, proof for each problem it can demonstrate, fix SQL and prompts, contractor summary PDF | $49 once; free quick check; Pro $29/month | Not stated | You want your repo checked too, with 30 days of free re-checks |
| ChikuOS AI Site Audit | A developer reviews your live app from the outside: Supabase RLS from your public key, keys in your bundle, server-side auth, headers, exposed files, plus speed and SEO; top 10 fixes | $49 | 24 hours | You want a fast human second opinion on the live app |
| ChikuOS Supabase Data-Leak Check | Every table's RLS policies, logged-out read/write test, storage and RPCs, with exact SQL | $99 | 2–3 business days | Your main worry is the database |
| ChikuOS Audit + Fixes | The audit, then the top issues fixed via a pull request or paste-in prompts | $149 | 3–5 days after repo access | You want the fixes done, not just listed |
| Bleek Human Audit | Engineers test business logic: broken access between users, payment security, free-trial abuse, AI agent safety | $300+ fixed scope; free scan; Deep Scan $19 one-time | Scoped | You want business-logic and cross-user testing |
| Vibe Audit Pre-Launch Sweep | Review of the whole codebase and live app by one senior engineer; done-for-you fixes scoped separately | $349; fixes $1,500 to $3,500 | 48 hours | You want someone to read your code, not just the live app |
| Lovable 2 Live security audit | RLS policies tested with two real accounts, keys, auth flows, edge functions and storage; written up, or fixed and re-tested | $350; with fixes from $750 | Report in 2 days | You may also move off Lovable Cloud or need mobile apps |
| Prodable | Free automated scan, then a flat-price fix by a developer | Free scan; fix $499 | Scan in about a minute | A live exposure was found and you want it fixed and re-scanned |
| Aikido AI pentest | Automated pentest with an audit-grade report; Lovable can show Aikido findings in its Security view | From $50, scoped to your app; typical $4,000 | Same day | You need a report for SOC 2 or ISO 27001 |
When Lovable's free scan is probably enough
If your app is read-only, has no payments, and stores nothing more sensitive than a login, and the Deep scan shows no critical findings, that may be enough for now. One reply in a January 2026 r/lovable thread put it this way: a read-only app with Google login is usually fine to launch on Lovable's review if auth, database rules and secrets are locked down, with a paid review once you add payments, write actions or sensitive data. Lovable's own pre-publish checklist is worth working through too: no secrets in front-end code, RLS configured and tested, auth enforced on the server, external API calls made server-side.
When to pay for a human review
- You take payments, or paid features must stay locked.
- You store personal, health or financial data.
- Users share data across teams or accounts, so "user A can't see user B" really matters.
- The AI says it fixed something and you can't retest it yourself.
The useful part of a human review is trying your app the way an attacker would: logged out, as a normal user, and as a second user poking at the first one's data, which is what several replies in an August 2026 r/lovable thread recommend before taking real users or payments.
When another provider is the better choice
- You want your repo checked as well as the live app, with re-checks: SecureIndie's $49 audit covers both and includes 30 days of free re-checks. Our $49 audit is outside-in only.
- You want your whole codebase read line by line: Vibe Audit's $349 Sweep reviews code and the live app. Our $49 audit is passive and outside-in unless you choose Audit + Fixes and share your repo.
- You're also leaving Lovable Cloud or need iOS and Android apps: Lovable 2 Live does migrations and mobile; we don't.
- You need an auditor-accepted pentest report: Aikido or another accredited pentest provider. We don't issue SOC 2 or ISO pentest reports.
Where ChikuOS fits
We're the low-cost human option: a fixed $49 audit delivered within 24 hours (full refund if it isn't delivered within 48 hours), $149 if you want the top fixes done, and $99 for a deeper Supabase review. Checks are passive and only for apps you own or are authorised to have checked. More detail on the Lovable app security audit page.
FAQ
Is Lovable's security scan free?
Yes. Lovable's docs say both the Quick security scan and the Deep security scan are free and don't consume credits. The Quick scan runs automatically when you publish; you run the Deep scan from More → Security.
Does Lovable's security scan check RLS?
Yes. The Quick scan reviews your database access rules, including tables without row-level security, access rules that let everyone through, and leaked-password protection being off. The Deep scan also looks for code that bypasses the rules your database enforces.
Is the Lovable security scan enough before launch?
For a simple app with no payments or sensitive data, a clean Deep scan plus Lovable's pre-publish checklist is a reasonable bar. Lovable's docs say the scans can't guarantee complete security and suggest a professional review for apps with sensitive data or critical functions.
What are the alternatives to a Lovable security audit?
Free: Lovable's Quick and Deep scans and free outside-in scanners such as ScanVibe, Vibeproof and Prodable. Paid reviews: SecureIndie at $49 (live app and repo), ChikuOS from $49, Bleek from $300, Vibe Audit at $349, Lovable 2 Live at $350 ($750+ with fixes), Prodable's $499 fix and AuditYourApp's $499 expert review. For a compliance-grade report, an AI or human pentest such as Aikido's.
How much does a Lovable security audit cost?
Fixed-price human reviews listed on providers' sites on 18 October 2026 range from $49 (SecureIndie and ChikuOS) to about $500, with done-for-you fixes from $149 (ChikuOS) up to $1,500 to $3,500 (Vibe Audit). Pentests are scoped: Aikido lists from $50 up to $30,000+, typically $4,000.
